SEO

This 7-figure company knew they had a good product, one that their audience loved. They consistently won sales through referral word-of-mouth. But they were ready to chase (then catch up to, then outpace) their bigger market competitors. Which meant more sales than what referrals alone could give them.

They were putting a good bit of energy (and budget) into ad spend. While watching their revenue decline, not grow.

They needed a new strategy. One that earned them money, instead of hemorrhaging it.

Content Strategy

CRO/Growth

“How do we raise our revenue?” (Point blank.)

They couldn’t keep hemorrhaging money on ad spend

Their content was getting clicks. Their ads were getting eyeballs. But the conversions weren't coming like they needed to.

Enter: positioning & optimization strategy.

Converting traffic is another.

Getting traffic is one thing.

When I started working with this brand, it was as a content and SEO strategist. Early investments in their content strategy had earned them 15k/month traffic highs, but they wanted to dig in deeper with SEO to hit the next stage of growth.

Through targeted website content that relied heavily on stage-of-awareness thinking (seeing the blog post framed within a larger, more comprehensive content system), they began to see 80k/month (and eventually 105k/month) returns.

They needed the strategy to
bring it all together.

Why ideal customers were buying other options — and how to turn attention their way instead.

Where they needed to rely more heavily on buyer psychology to optimize conversion rates page-by-page.

How to optimize the brand on a higher strategy and on-the-page level to drive sales.

For a consistent, achievable, cross-team strategy that would get results.

They needed to rely on data and research to understand:

They had an ad team.
A creative team.
An operations team.

These teams were each optimizing in isolation, without a clear view of what the full journey felt like from the buyer's side. Or, more importantly: where it was broken.

HEAT MAPS  |  PAGE-BY-PAGE DATA   |   CUSTOMER REVIEWS & RESPONSES  |  CR0SS-INITIATIVE CONVERSION RATE DATA  |  COMPETITOR MESSAGING & POSITIONING

& other questions their audience were asking.

They needed to know what was keeping people from buying in, with research-supported strategies that could lead to growth. That meant digging into:

"Why is it worth the price?"

With revenue shrinking month-by-month, this brand didn't have the budget (or the time) to throw guesses at the wall to see what marketing strategy stuck.

The optimization gaps:

Outworn narratives

That boldly pushed back against outdated market anxieties, ones that buyers no longer felt. Which led to ignorance about current objections, and copy that built hesitance rather than counteracting it.

Tangled customer journey

That didn't strategically deliver the messaging that the customer needed to hear, at the moment they needed to hear it. For drop-offs, bounces, low open rates, low upsell rates, and the kind of confusion that led people to competitors.

Broken buyer psychology

Including an unclear return policy, no clear flow for upsells, and a discounts-focused sales strategy that left customers waiting for the next big sale period to buy (then choosing a competitor in the interim).

Unclear features

Left customers about how the stated benefits became reality. They didn't trust that the product had the goods to execute on its promises, so they went elsewhere.

Copy-paste messaging

Mimicked common language, benefits, and narratives of others in the industry. Without giving a differentiating sense of why this product stood above.

Outdated branding

Made customers worry that the brand was cheap, lagging behind on modern tech, and otherwise not comparable in quality to similarly-priced competitors.

Through...

To maximize the ROI of our ad spend through creative campaigns that relied more heavily on stage of awareness thinking for retargeting campaigns, and more product-specific (rather than market-generic) messaging overall.

Ad optimization

That relied on data, heat maps, and deep voice of customer research to determine what messages target customers needed to hear at what points of the page (and optimize accordingly).

Strong messaging hierarchy

That targeted key website pages, product pages, and landing pages to raise conversion rates and increase engagement across various touchpoints of the buyer journey.
